Who We Are
In Memory of Wally Wash
Wallace J.”Wally” Walsh (Feb.18, 1932-Aug. 11, 2016)
The Kiwanis Club of Snohomish lost one of its most significant members on August 18 with the passing
of Wallce J. “Wally” Walsh. During his long term membership of both Snohomish Kiwanis clubs he was
an advocate of all programs which benefited kids and the community. His leadership in Kiwanis included
two terms as PNW District Trustee and Lt. Governor of Division 22 in 2007-08 and 2009-10 (Distinguished) and many terms on the club Board of Directors. He was also the driving force for many projects that our club has been deeply involved, such as (to name a few): Bicycle Helmet Program, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Boys and Girls Club affiliation, Dictionary Program, Project Eliminate, feeding “Hungry Kids”, and most recently his greatest passion of all, Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Project (KCCP). A great visionary, who though both inside and outside the “box”, he was tireless in his efforts to support kids and to improve the community. He will continue to serve as his projects and ideas live on in the accomplishments, gifts of generosity and service rendered to the community he loved. (For a more complete resume of Wally’s life, family and involvement please refer to the obituary column in the Wednesday, 8-17-2016, edition of the Herald or go to Herald.net).
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 1306 Lake View Ave. on Sunday August 21, 3:00 p.m.
